About the Position

Advocates for Basic Legal Equality, Inc. (ABLE) is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the management of our Toledo building and coordination with leased offices, vendor relationships, safety and security measures, and daily operational needs of the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilities Management: Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure the proper functioning of facilities and equipment.
  • Maintenance Records: Maintain computerized records for maintenance and warranties of all equipment.
  • Vendor Management: Manage contractors performing maintenance, repairs, landscaping, snow removal, security, janitorial, and other services.
  • Building Security: Oversee building security and safety protocols; collaborate with relevant stakeholders to address any building-related issues promptly.
  • Lease Management: Manage, negotiate, monitor, and maintain lease agreements for office spaces and equipment.
  • Procurement: Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures.
  • Document Retention: Oversee firm's document retention policy and revise as required.
  • Training and Development: Work with staff to develop and train on Standard Operating Procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is desired, but not required.
  • Experience: Proven experience in operations management, particularly in building, lease, vendor, and procurement management.
  • Skills: Ability to inspect a building, its equipment, and grounds and to plan maintenance, repair and custodial activities. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills and an ability to appropriately prioritize tasks.
  • Personal Qualities: Commitment to ABLE's mission, the Strategic Advocacy Initiatives, and to ABLE's clients and client communities. Ability to work with diverse staff in an inclusive, collaborative environment.
Benefits

ABLE is committed to providing an equitable work environment, including a commitment to pay equity. We are updating our salary scales, with expected completion by Fall 2024. The starting annual salary range for this position will likely fall between $40,500 and $47,600 depending on experience. Comprehensive fringe benefits, including health insurance, annual leave, and paid parental leave. Some travel between ABLE's office locations is required.
