Advanced Practice Nurse, ACS

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) to join our Surgical Team at University Hospital, Newark NJ. The successful candidate will be a self-directed and purposeful health provider who can demonstrate standards of professional practice, including ethical decision making, quality assessment, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive health assessments and differential diagnoses for patients with surgical conditions/diseases.
- Prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments as needed.
- Collaborate with the attending staff to provide specialty care to General Surgery patients.
- Conduct research, provide education, and work autonomously or in interdisciplinary teams to promote wellness.
To be successful in this role, the APN must have a current Registered/Professional Nurse license and registration in the State of New Jersey, a master's degree in nursing, and eligibility for certification by a national certifying body. A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience and current BLS certification are also required.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills, and creative problem-solving abilities. They must be able to perform in an expanded nursing role, providing specialty care to General Surgery patients in collaboration with the attending staff.
