Fire Technology Adjunct Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Fire Technology courses at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will have a strong background in fire technology and the ability to create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Fire Technology courses at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations.
- Develop and implement curriculum that meets the needs of students and the department.
- Assume leadership roles within the department and participate in department, division, college committees, and participatory governance activities.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and stay current with industry developments.
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree and two years of full-time equivalent professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment, or an associate degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member's teaching assignment.
Professional experience includes both work/occupational experience and teaching experience. Teaching and occupational experience may be combined to total the required number of full-time years of experience.
Working ConditionsAssignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Adjunct faculty positions are part-time and do not accrue rights to tenure.
