Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Communication Studies courses at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will have a strong background in speech communication and the ability to create a dynamic learning environment that values instructor/student interaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Communication Studies courses, including speech communication, at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with departmental and college goals.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide activities, including committee work and professional development.
Qualifications
  • Possession of an unexpired California Community College Instructor Credential in Communications.
  • OR - Master's degree in speech, speech broadcasting, telecommunications, rhetoric, communication, communication studies, speech communication, or organizational communication.
  • OR - Bachelor's degree in any of the above AND master's degree in drama/theater arts, mass communication, or English.
  • OR - Equivalency: An official transcript documenting successful completion of any Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education AND official transcripts documenting successful completion of 24 semester units in the discipline at the upper division AND graduate level, a minimum of which must be 12 graduate level semester units.
Working Conditions

Assignments may include Monday through Friday (day and evening), as well as Saturday classes. Adjunct Salary Rate: Starting at $88.30 per hour.
