Job Overview:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing scheduled preventative upkeep in guest accommodations, conference areas, and communal spaces as necessary. This role involves responding to repair requests and ensuring the safety, security, and preservation of the property. The technician will engage in energy-saving practices in collaboration with management and uphold all regulatory standards. Exceptional customer service is paramount, and professionalism must be maintained at all times. A solid technical foundation and aptitude are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance tasks to guarantee compliance with Platinum Companies and brand standards.
  • Follow all relevant federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to the property, guests, and staff.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and emergency procedures, including the identification and removal of hazards.
  • Maintain, repair, and clean guest rooms according to established preventative maintenance protocols.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance as indicated in maintenance logs.
  • Assess the time and scope of repairs needed.
  • Perform thorough cleaning of all guestroom surfaces, including bathtubs, wall tiles, hard floors, walls, windows, and mirrors.
  • Manage the upkeep of the hotel's pool, including chemical adjustments and filter cleaning; complete maintenance request documentation and logs.
  • Restore furniture and fixtures in guest rooms, such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors, windows, and counters, including painting and finishing as required.
  • Immediately report significant maintenance issues, unusual observations, or safety risks to the supervisor.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of tools, equipment, and supplies.
  • Assist in routine inventory assessments and processes.
  • Ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and safety of all equipment.
  • Perform regular inspections of the property, both inside and out.
  • Maintain franchise standards and address any inspection deficiencies.
  • Follow established procedures for reporting equipment, furnishings, and supplies that require repair.
  • Implement the Brand and Company Energy Conservation Program as per guidelines.
  • Clear trash and maintain cleanliness in lobby and service areas.
  • Provide on-call emergency services as needed.
  • Manage expenses to meet or exceed budgetary goals.
  • Keep accurate logs and records as required.
  • Collaborate closely with management to ensure effective communication across all departments.
  • Greet and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs.
  • Resolve guest issues and complaints efficiently.
  • Assist with various projects as assigned.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, including financials, personnel, and guest data.

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and communication skills are essential.
  • Complete any required training or certification programs to comply with Company and Brand standards.
  • Adhere to professional appearance and grooming standards at all times.
  • Wear uniforms in accordance with Company and Brand policies.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation.
  • Be proficient with current technologies and software, including business applications.
  • Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment is necessary.
  • Ability to manage a physically demanding workload.
  • Follow budget and inventory protocols diligently.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends.
  • Exhibit organizational skills and thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance, including bending and twisting.
  • Possess an outgoing personality.
  • Maintain professionalism consistently.
  • HVAC, plumbing, and electrical certifications are advantageous.
  • A High School Diploma is required.
