We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Inventory Controller to join our team at Restaurant Depot. As an Inventory Controller, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our inventory management system, maintaining accurate physical inventory levels, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate physical inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Supply Chain Coordination: Collaborate with the Receiving, Perishables, Dry Goods Floor, and Front End teams to ensure low stock, out-of-stock, and negative on-hand levels are corrected.
- Inventory Analysis: Analyze sales price differential reports, identify margin issues, and communicate with buyers to ensure timely responses.
- Training and Development: Train staff on inventory procedures and prepare for semi-annual inventories.
- Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and submit liquor and tobacco tax filings with government agencies and report shrinkage and research causes.
- Education and Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in retail or wholesale, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, and background in physical inventory maintenance/control.
- Leadership and Communication: Proven leadership skills, ability to supervise and direct employees, and effective oral and written communication skills.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office, 10-key skills a plus, and ability to calculate figures and amounts.
The Inventory Controller will work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with moderate ambient temperatures, refrigerated areas, and freezers. The position requires the ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time, with occasional reaching above shoulder level, twisting, and bending.
