As a Vascular Imaging Specialist, you will conduct diagnostic examinations of patients utilizing a comprehensive approach, adhering to quality control standards while maintaining professionalism and courtesy. This role involves executing a range of technical procedures that necessitate independent judgment, creativity, and initiative.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
Associate's Degree in a Related Field or a Certificate in Radiologic Technology.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) - ARDMS Registered/Eligible upon hire.
Valid Driver's License required for work-related travel upon hire.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proficient use of standard equipment necessary for fulfilling essential job functions.

Excellent interpersonal abilities. Capacity to collaborate effectively within a team. Proficient in understanding and applying guidelines, policies, and procedures. Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate fluently in English. Cultural sensitivity. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. Customer and patient-oriented. Critical thinking skills with the ability to make independent decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Excellence/Patient Care:
    Generate diagnostic ultrasound images of patients in accordance with established departmental protocols by selecting and operating equipment accurately while applying technical knowledge. Assist physicians in interpreting the technical aspects of completed examinations. Provide clear explanations of procedures to patients and their families to ensure understanding. Organize patient schedules and procedures for optimal workflow. Adhere to sterile techniques and prevent cross-contamination while assisting physicians. Aid in the transfer of patients and ensure proper positioning and immobilization as required. Review requisitions for accuracy and completeness of ultrasound examinations, complete necessary documentation, and assist in the proper storage of completed exams. Maintain familiarity with all ultrasound equipment utilized in the department.
  • Professional Development and Patient Education:
    Stay informed about departmental and organizational updates by attending meetings, reading communications, and regularly checking the organization's intranet. Adhere to departmental work schedules. Ensure compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety, and Risk Management guidelines. Follow personnel policies and procedures. Monitor environmental conditions to protect patient health information. Conduct oneself in accordance with Corporate Compliance and HIPAA policies. Maintain consistent attendance. Demonstrate initiative to enhance quality and customer service by striving to exceed expectations. Balance team and individual responsibilities; remain open to feedback; contribute to team goals; prioritize team success over individual interests. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Administrator to support the efficient operation of the office.
