As a vital member of the cardiovascular team, you will assist cardiologists in executing invasive and diagnostic cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiological procedures. Your role will encompass technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation utilizing automated techniques. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to meet patient needs while managing additional assigned duties.

Qualifications:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Associate's Degree OR successful completion of a certificate program in Radiology.

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS
Radiography (R)(ARRT) within 1 year of hire
IEMA Radiography License Illinois OR Temp IEMA upon hire
BLS within 30 days of hire

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Proficient use of standard equipment necessary for performing essential functions of the position.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Basic computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsing. Multicultural sensitivity is essential.

Essential Functions:
Assist cardiologists in conducting invasive coronary, vascular, and electrophysiology diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using specialized techniques. Set up and operate various electrical and imaging equipment and computers.
Possess knowledge of hemodynamic principles, cardiac anatomy, and physiology, along with the operation of equipment and supplies used in cardiac and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. Demonstrate competency in moderate sedation administration and adherence to policy protocols.
Exhibit good judgment and problem-solving skills while prioritizing tasks based on procedural findings. Recognize and assist in the treatment of complications arising from cardiac, vascular, and electrophysiology procedures. Advocate for patient needs and prepare sterile environments with appropriate supplies for each procedure.
Maintain extensive knowledge of the use and function of supplies specific to cardiac and vascular diagnostic and interventional procedures. Ensure proper connection to physiological monitoring equipment and adhere to radiation safety protocols.
Possess advanced knowledge of EKG interpretation, arrhythmia recognition, and hemodynamic outcome analysis. Communicate effectively with patients during procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure focused care.
Collaborate with team members and other healthcare providers in planning patient care specific to procedures, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Maintain professional interactions with vendors to guarantee patient safety and positive outcomes from equipment use.
Regularly update knowledge and skills as equipment changes occur within the area. Conduct daily checks of equipment to ensure performance and safety, promptly reporting any malfunctions.
Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and manage digital archiving systems for patient images and reports.
Provide care to patients undergoing coronary invasive procedures by adhering to established guidelines, policies, and standards of care. Document significant observations and reactions while maintaining a working knowledge of aseptic techniques and proficiently setting up all procedures.
