Job Summary

Nurse Hustle is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Imaging Specialist to join our team as a Travel Radiology Technologist for a 13-week contract in a leading healthcare facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist cardiologists in performing invasive and diagnostic/interventional cardiac/vascular and electrophysiologic procedures.
  • Provide technical hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation using automated techniques.
  • Ensure patient care meets the highest standards, handling other duties as required and assigned.
Essential Functions
  • Assist cardiologists in performing invasive coronary/vascular/EP diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures.
  • Set up and operate a variety of electrical/imaging equipment and computers.
  • Display good judgment and problem-solving skills, prioritizing performance based on procedural findings.
  • Advocate for patient needs, ensuring effective communication and education during procedures.
  • Recognize and assist anesthesia needs, collaborating with team members and other healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with Research RN/Coordinator in carrying out laboratory-based research.
  • Exhibit excellence in communication skills, interacting with physicians to facilitate patient safety, satisfaction, and optimal outcomes.
  • Assume accountability for patient care, directing team members as needed to achieve a standard of excellence.
  • Train and mentor team members, demonstrating expertise in equipment operation and troubleshooting.
  • Manage digital archiving systems, ensuring safe storage of patient images and reports.
  • Promptly notify personnel of equipment malfunctions, removing any defective equipment.
  • Report significant observations and reactions to appropriate personnel, documenting care provided.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of aseptic technique, assisting in passing sterile guidewires and catheters.
  • Prepare instruments for sterilization, suggesting equipment or procedural changes for quality patient care.
  • Prepare sterile fields, observing for deviations from proper aseptic technique.
  • Accurately interpret EKGs, alerting physicians to any irregular activity.
Requirements
  • IEMA (Illinois state) License in Rad Technology.
  • BLS (American Heart Assoc.) certification.
  • ACLS (American Heart Assoc.) certification.
  • ARRT Registration in Radiology.
