As a Tax Auditor, you will perform complex desk audits on business entities and individuals to ensure compliance with Virginia's tax laws and reduce the tax gap for the Commonwealth.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct and finalize complex desk audits independently
- Respond to taxpayers and customers in a timely and professional manner
- Provide research and analysis for assigned tax issues and projects
- Prepare and submit all reports completely, accurately, and timely
- Working knowledge of Virginia and federal tax laws, forms, schedules, and filing procedures
- Experience analyzing or auditing tax or financial records to determine proper tax liabilities
- Experience communicating effectively both orally and in writing to entities such as taxpayers, industry groups, and legislators
- Experience working independently and in a team environment to complete assigned tasks
