As part of our ongoing expansion, we are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Automotive Transmission Warranty Evaluation Technician. In this role, you will be tasked with assessing, analyzing, and diagnosing the reasons behind the failure of returned warranty automotive transmissions. Your commitment to providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients will be paramount.

We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated and eager to support all operational processes and procedures. To excel in this position, you must possess strong multitasking abilities, effective communication skills, and hands-on automotive repair experience, along with a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics. A goal-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and accuracy are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming materials and conduct failure analysis.
  • Generate detailed inspection reports that identify the cause of failures, providing feedback to both the factory and customers.
  • Understand the fundamental principles and operations of automatic transmissions.
  • Examine and assess defects in transmissions to determine the root causes of failures.
  • Create comprehensive inspection reports that include technical conclusions and relevant images.
  • Conduct inspections of automatic transmissions in accordance with warranty procedures.
  • Identify failure causes and assign appropriate failure codes.
  • Familiarize yourself with internal policies, values, and quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to housekeeping standards.
  • Be knowledgeable about the company's Code of Safe Work Practices.

Qualifications:

Preferred candidates will have experience as a Transmission Builder or Repair Technician, with one to two years of relevant experience or training. An Automotive Technician degree from a two-year technical school or college, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is also acceptable.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in disassembling and reassembling various types of transmissions.
  • Adept at analyzing and diagnosing returned transmissions and their components.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. Employees are encouraged to seek assistance if materials exceed their comfort level. The role requires standing for extended periods and tolerating varying temperature conditions. Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and moderate noise levels in the work environment is expected.
