Key Responsibilities

  • Efficiently check patients in and out, adhering to our Customer Service standards.
  • Verify insurance details and collect necessary payments.
  • Balance and reconcile cash collected during shifts.
  • Schedule and manage appointments, updating the calendar as required.
  • Confirm appointments for healthcare providers, aestheticians, and registered nurses.
  • Create and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring up-to-date information.
  • Prepare superbills promptly and accurately.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations, maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
  • Adapt positively to changing circumstances.
  • Maintain focus and productivity under pressure.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically while addressing patient concerns.
  • Keep the front office organized and presentable to uphold our high standards.
  • Manage inventory and place orders weekly as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the location.
  • Verify insurance coverage, including deductibles and copay amounts.
  • Understand the distinctions between HMO and PPO plans.
  • Recognize the differences between Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
  • Determine if Medi-Cal HMO patients require authorization and should be billed accordingly.
  • Accurately read insurance cards and input correct payer information.
  • Be knowledgeable about Military Insurance programs and their specific requirements.
  • Demonstrate the ability to multitask efficiently.
  • Verify if the payer is contracted with the appropriate Tax ID/NPI.
  • Ensure authorization for HMO commercial and Medi-Cal HMO is completed.
  • Complete all patient demographics accurately to prevent claim rejections.
  • Post copays into the electronic medical administration system.
  • Differentiate between straight Medicare and Medicare Advantage Plans.
  • Identify primary versus secondary insurance coverage.
