Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Support Unit Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in San Antonio, TX. As a member of our OptumCare organization, you will be part of a clinician-led care team that is changing the way healthcare professionals work and live.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care in various clinics, including home, telemedicine, and mobile visits
  • Collaborate with employed, contracted, and affiliated WellMed physicians, advance practice clinicians, and clinic staff to deliver comprehensive, coordinated care to a mostly Medicare-aged population
  • Educate providers on proper coding, risk adjustment metrics, and quality protocols
  • Interview patients to ensure proper documentation and preventative screenings
  • Track performance using metrics related to the organization's strategic direction and operational needs

Requirements
  • Certification through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • Current licensure through the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners or licensed Physician Assistant by the Texas State Medical Board
  • Valid DEA license or ability to obtain one prior to employment
  • 1+ year of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Comfortable managing a primarily Medicare-aged patient population
