Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at UT Health Science Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Participate in daily rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and develop care plans.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical guidelines and research to provide evidence-based care.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Nursing with a focus on Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) or related field.
  • Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a focus on Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
  • Current specialty certification as required by department, excluding Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification unless paired with a post-master's certification in specialty.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or specialty certification as required by department.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in the NICU or related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
