About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Educator to join our team at NYC Health + Hospitals. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced RN to develop and implement nursing programs, focusing on staff development and education.

As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for creating and delivering educational content that enhances the skills and knowledge of our nursing staff. Your expertise will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization's nursing practices.

Job Responsibilities

Implement, monitor, evaluate, and participate in the development of nursing educational programs, including nursing orientation programs, and other developmental activities in an assigned healthcare setting.

Conduct training and ongoing competency assessment to align nursing educational opportunities with healthcare setting goals, operational standards, and educational priorities.

Coordinate nursing educational programs and activities for an assigned healthcare setting; provide continuous education and training to nursing staff; and assess educational needs of staff.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid New York State license and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State;
  • Holds, or obtains through facility orientation, a valid and current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA);
  • A Master's Degree in Nursing, or a related nursing or education field, from an accredited college or university;
  • Three (3) years of experience as a registered nurse in specialty area(s), including one (1) year providing nursing education and training in specialty area(s); or holds a valid and current certification as a Nurse Educator.
