About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Nurse Leader to join our team at the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. As a Supervising Public Health Nurse III, you will play a vital role in overseeing the implementation of health programs and policies within the Bureau of School Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage a team of nurses, public health advisors, and assistants, providing guidance on best practices and ensuring exceptional patient care.
  • Serve as a liaison between School System Administrators and our Office of School Health, fostering strong partnerships and collaborative relationships.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs for staff, focusing on areas such as Automated Student Health Record (ASHR) usage and program development.
  • Analyze data collected from OSH management reports to inform strategic decisions and drive program improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Medical Doctors, Adolescent Health, Vision, and Mental Health, to plan initiatives and enhance overall health outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution or recognized by the New York State Education Department.
  • New York State Registered Professional Nurse licensure and current registration.
  • A minimum of one year supervisory experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with program development, presentation skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer programs.
  • Diverse nursing background, flexibility, and willingness to travel.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this position is $ 91,114 - 116,106 per annum, based on the New York City pay scale. Please note that actual salaries may vary depending on individual qualifications and departmental budget considerations.
