Job Title: Senior Industrial Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Engineer to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing automated joining processes for our reusable space vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead manufacturing-related projects, including production support, process improvement, and operations improvement.
  • Develop and implement automated joining processes for our manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with a team of welding engineers, automation engineers, and operators to design and implement efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve manufacturing efficiency and quality.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing, with a focus on process improvement and automation.
  • Experience with machine shops and fabrication environments.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing and/or facilities planning.
  • 3+ years of factory flow and process modeling and simulations experience.
  • 2+ years of experience leading continuous improvement and value stream mapping events.
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) and/or Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • Strong analytical skill set and proficiency in data mining.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Operations Management, Construction Management, MSE, and/or MBA.
  • Experience transitioning development to production.
  • Manned space flight production experience.
  • Strong teaming skills.
  • Experience with manufacturing organizations and/or supply chain.
  • Hands-on experience with materials and manufacturing processes.
