Fitzgibbon Hospital, a non-profit community healthcare provider, plays a crucial role in enhancing the health and wellness of the communities it serves in the Marshall, MO area. We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Patient Service Representative to become a vital member of our Patient Access team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcomes and registers patients arriving at the hospital, Emergency Department, and outpatient clinics
  • Communicates emergency codes via the Emergency Alert System
  • Processes copayments and outstanding balances for current and past visits
  • Handles all incoming calls through the organization’s switchboard
Work Schedule:
  • Full-Time (80 hours biweekly)
  • Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

About the Patient Registration Team

The Patient Registration Team at Fitzgibbon Hospital is a critical component of the organization’s Revenue Cycle. Patient Service Representatives are often the first and last points of contact for patients and visitors, initiating electronic encounters for all patients. Accuracy is paramount, as the performance of Patient Service Representatives directly influences reimbursement processes. With the ever-evolving requirements of federal, state, and private insurance, the team is committed to continuous learning and adaptation to positively impact reimbursement outcomes.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: at least one year of customer service experience
  • Preferred: experience with insurance processes
