As a Purchasing Agent 2, your responsibilities will encompass the following:


Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to environmental health and safety principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Analyze procurement requirements data to effectively communicate priorities and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Monitor open order reports, supplier forecasts, and shipping schedules to coordinate the prompt receipt of goods and services, including managing supplier communications regarding purchase order acknowledgments and tracking updates.
  • Engage with suppliers to enhance on-time performance and streamline the supply chain, fostering strong relationships while ensuring accountability.
  • Coordinate the return of non-conforming materials or services by obtaining RMAs, creating return purchase orders, and collaborating with the shipping department for timely returns.
  • Collaborate with purchasing agents to ensure MRP purchase receipt dates align with supplier schedules and assist in systematically updating purchase order dates.
  • Participate in shortage discussions and planning meetings to align planned deliveries with supply chain constraints.
  • Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies by communicating with suppliers for credit memos, revised invoices, and updating purchase orders with accurate receipt quantities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with Supplier Quality and vendors to address non-conforming materials and services, aiding in the coordination of data for Root Cause Corrective Action.
  • Support buyers in sourcing activities, including obtaining samples and coordinating shipments to suppliers.
  • Operate under immediate supervision and rely on established guidelines to perform job functions.
  • Contribute to the company's continuous improvement efforts in Safety, 6S, Quality, Delivery, and Productivity.
  • Uphold company standards of integrity, safety, fair treatment, and a positive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2-4 years of experience, preferably in manufacturing, or a combination of related experience, education, and/or training to effectively perform essential job functions.
  • Work on projects of limited complexity in a support role with closely managed tasks.
  • Possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing and supply chain environment.
  • Exhibit teamwork and the ability to proactively collaborate with others.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail with excellent record-keeping abilities.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Be self-motivated and willing to invest extra effort and hours as necessary.
  • Be proficient with computer software such as Microsoft Office (Access, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, Word).
  • Have a minimum of 2 years of MRP experience; INFOR experience is a plus.
  • Show a demonstrated ability to align with our Permission to Play Values.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, and bending throughout the workday.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to machinery, noise, chemicals, and lights/lasers.
  • Must wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment as required by position and/or company policy.
