Job Description

The Accounting Analyst will play a crucial role in maintaining and updating financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll. They will conduct regular reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness, and will manage and monitor the organization's budget, providing regular reports on budget performance and variances.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial data and prepare detailed reports on financial performance, trends, and variances.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and presentations for internal departments and the Board of Deans and its committees.
  • Monitor and manage grant funds, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures to enhance internal controls.
  • Collaborate with program managers and other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit organization.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with grant management and reporting.
  • CPA certification or progress towards certification is desirable.
