Job Description

The Central Billing Office (CBO) Accounts Receivable Representative plays a critical role in our organization, responsible for performing complex accounts receivable-related functions. This position reports directly to the designated Central Billing Office leader.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and resolve denied claims in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Manage claims from all aging buckets, including posting, appeals, and ADRs.
  • Identify and review delinquent accounts, pursuing collection as needed.
  • Document follow-through efforts and maintain accurate records.
  • Coordinate medical record documentation for appeals and communicate with insurance carriers.
  • Prepare weekly status reports for review with management.
Additional Duties

Assist with medical biller duties, including handling insurance claims, submitting claims to insurance, collecting and posting patient account payments, and preparing patient statements.

Requirements
  • High School Diploma.
  • 2+ years of related experience, with experience in an orthopaedic setting preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and electronic billing systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurance, benefits, medical terminology, and medical billing.
  • Experience working with billing and accounts receivable or both commercial and non-commercial payors.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop relationships and collaborate in a centralized organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and exude professionalism.
Physical Demands

The successful candidate must be able to sit for long periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform front desk duties with proper body mechanics. Adequate hearing and visual acuity are required to perform job duties.
