Your primary responsibility will be to architect, develop, and deploy innovative software for the forthcoming generation of Vizio Smart TVs.


What You Will Do:
Design, develop, implement, and validate embedded software for Video (streaming / broadcast) processing and Picture Quality (PQ) processing on Smart TV platforms.

Collaborate with engineers across the UI, Middleware, and Hardware/Device layers to integrate and enhance video control and processing functionalities.

Ensure superior Video / Tuner / Streaming quality and performance across diverse video stream types, input formats, and codecs.

Assess, implement, analyze, test, and refine picture quality algorithms such as Gamma / White Balance while working closely with device layer designers to execute and evaluate.

Guide and mentor junior engineers in their professional development.

About You:
Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • Over 10 years of experience in embedded software development.
  • Proficient in video processing concepts and algorithms (Streaming, Tuner Control, Video Compression/Codecs).
  • Strong grasp of embedded system architecture and resource management.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) / Linux-based embedded systems.
  • Proficient in C/C++ (C++ 17 or later) programming for embedded systems.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capable of clearly documenting designs and articulating design methodologies to team members.
  • Able to work effectively within a cross-functional team environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with video and picture quality (PQ) processing algorithms such as Gamma/White Balance on embedded Smart TV systems.
  • Experience with advanced Color/Picture Quality Calibration software and tools (Calman Professional).
  • Knowledge of TV industry standards and protocols (e.g., ATSC, DVB).
  • Understanding of BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or Behave.
  • Knowledge of modern C++ design patterns.
  • Experience in developing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) test cases for Linux-based systems using Python or other scripting languages.
  • Proficient in utilizing Google Test for C++ codebase validation.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies, JIRA, Jenkins, and Version Control tools (git).
