Job Summary
We're committed to creating a work environment that supports the well-being of our patients and employees alike. As a Patient Access Representative at UMC Health System, you'll play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient registration and admissions processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect and verify patient information for accurate registration and eligibility verification
- Schedule exams and coordinate multiple modalities schedules with precision and attention to detail
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits to ensure smooth billing and payment processes
- Collect payments and establish payment arrangements with patients, discussing options and providing clear explanations
- Perform other assigned duties related to patient access and registration
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of experience in a patient access or customer service role
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic medical terminology knowledge
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, handle problems, and maintain a professional demeanor in high-pressure situations
Working Conditions
This role requires frequent sitting and walking, with occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. You'll work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and occasional exposure to indoor and outdoor environmental changes.
