Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at Healthcare Partners Investments. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient registration process for patients receiving services at our facility.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accurately gather and enter patient information into our computer system, verifying benefits and obtaining signatures on required forms.
  • Collect co-payments, deductibles, and co-insurance from patients at the time of service.
  • Ensure an efficient, complete, and timely patient registration process that models our customer service philosophy.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical departments, scheduling representatives, and patients to obtain scheduled appointments and orders prior to service dates.
  • Pre-register patients in advance of their arrival, maintaining an acceptable accuracy rate.
  • Review and validate patient demographic and insurance information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Work closely with physician office staff, schedulers, and other hospital departments to schedule and prepare required information before patient arrival.
  • Utilize online programs to verify insurance eligibility and benefits, documenting findings on patient accounts.
  • Effectively communicate with physician office staff to resolve authorization issues and coordinate registrations as required.
  • Collect and log cash, generate receipts, and maintain balanced cash at all times.
  • Meet monthly cash collection goals and consistently demonstrate premier customer service and communication skills.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; 2 years college preferred.
  • Experience in patient registration, verification, and authorization in a medical center or comparable institution.
  • Working knowledge of governmental regulations and other reimbursement criteria.
  • Ability to accurately type 40 WPM, complete forms, and handle payment transactions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with short time-lines, prioritize, and organize work.
