Patient Access Coordinator

As a Patient Access Representative at SSM Health, you will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient scheduling and registration processes. Your primary responsibility will be to communicate with patients, participants, and staff to gather demographic, insurance, and clinical information for prescribed procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and enter patient information into the appropriate database, seeking resources to resolve issues related to procedure type, date, or location.
- Schedule patient procedures efficiently, coordinating and communicating schedules to minimize wait times.
- Assist with insurance pre-certification and authorization, providing counseling to patients on pre-service requirements and instructions.
- Perform clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient information.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No prior experience required
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far, and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
