Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Customer Service Ambassador to join our team at the Museum of Science. As a key member of our Visitor Services department, you will provide exceptional service to guests, ensuring their experience is welcoming, comfortable, and enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Museum offerings, accessibility amenities, services, events, business, and safety protocols and procedures.
  • Act as a main point of contact for emergencies, including fire, first aid, and lost children, ensuring all visitors, staff, volunteers, and interns are well-informed and safe.
  • Honestly and accurately collect, store, return, and inventory all lost and found items, including currencies.
  • Provide account oversight for the refund drawer, ensure accurate refunds, and maintain records in compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Fulfill requests for information, meetings, and accessibility amenities using up-to-date tools and systems.
  • Model exceptional service by providing prompt, proactive, and efficient responses to problems, issues, and questions.
  • Work with Information Desk Volunteers to ensure they have current knowledge of events, programs, and general admissions policies.
  • Assist the Visitor Services Manager and Supervisors in maintaining informational documentation of the Museum and Boston area.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of customer service experience.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, web browsers, and Outlook.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven success working independently.

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $17.21-$21.51 USD. The Museum of Science offers a competitive compensation package, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for growth and development.
