Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medication Assistant to join our team at SSM Health. As a Medication Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by assisting with medication administration, monitoring for side effects, and maintaining accurate inventory of medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Administration: Assist with medication administration to residents according to their established care plan and in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Medication Management: Maintain accurate inventory of medications at the beginning and end of each shift, ensure accurate distribution of medications to all residents, and complete the 3 checks prior to administering meds.
  • Resident Care: Provide quality care to subacute/chronically ill residents, assist in the care of acutely ill residents, and administer medications according to standards of care.
  • Communication: Participate in report at the beginning of each shift, communicate throughout the shift on a timely basis with team nurse, and report any changes of condition or unusual symptoms immediately.
  • Documentation: Complete all assigned documentation requirements, including medication/treatment administration, and maintain confidentiality for residents at all times.
  • Safety and Infection Control: Comply with safety policies/procedures to ensure safe practices for residents, staff, self, and others, and maintain residents in isolation when indicated.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: One year geriatric experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - State of Work Location
