Job Summary

This role focuses on generating opportunities, building client relationships, and securing brokerage placements in a specific area of coverage expertise. The successful candidate will create relationships with existing and new brokerage carriers, negotiating terms and pricing with a high sense of urgency. They will interact with companies and brokers through various channels, including telephone, email, in-person visits, networking, and regular mail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to generate submission opportunities and a consistent flow of business.
  • Review submission documents, preparing additional information as needed, including loss summaries, risk stratifications, and narratives.
  • Select and market risks to suitable markets, negotiating terms and pricing.
  • Provide comparisons and illustrations to support client presentation processes.
  • Utilize knowledge of automated systems to develop information for new or renewal policies.
  • Prepare quotations for agents and respond to inquiries from agents, policyholders, or prospects.
  • Review requests for cancellation, endorsements, and other policy changes.
  • Review policies for renewal consideration and remarketing.
  • Request additional documentation necessary for policy processing.
  • Conduct marketing visits to agents and attend industry events.
  • Collaborate with support associates, assistants, and central processing to ensure timely and accurate work completion.
Requirements
  • Producer's License
  • 3+ years of insurance experience
  • Prior exposure to insurance brokerage activities
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • A high sense of urgency
  • Resourceful and assertive behavior
  • Demonstrated negotiation and sales skills
  • Technical knowledge of insurance coverage forms and their application
  • Knowledge of departmental regulations and policies
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within parameters
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in standard underwriting practices and procedures
