Substance Use Counselor

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Counselor to join our team at Open Sky Community Services. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering evidence-based interventions to individuals with mental illness or dual diagnosis.
Key Responsibilities- Enroll, screen, assess, and reassess individuals for substance use, addiction risk, and addiction treatment needs.
- Identify and evaluate risk issues, develop appropriate critical need interventions, and transition plans.
- Collaborate with the team to provide clinical consultation and assist in understanding how substance use and/or addictive behavior can impact recovery.
- Develop and facilitate clinical and support groups based on the needs and preferences of individuals served.
- Cultivate mutually respectful partnerships, set appropriate limits, and maintain a helping role with individuals served and family members.
- Coordinate with Care Coordination Entities and other providers to ensure individuals have access to services that address addiction treatment and related issues.
- Provide direct interventions and supports to individuals served based on their stage of treatment or stage of change using evidence-based and promising treatment practices.
- Develop productive affiliations and partnerships with other community-based providers to enhance the agency's service delivery network.
We are looking for a qualified Substance Use Counselor with a LADC I, LADC II, or CADC certification. Experience working with adults with mental health challenges, emotional disturbance, and co-occurring substance abuse disorders is required. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are also necessary.
