About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Substance Use Counselor to join our team at Open Sky Community Services. As a Substance Use Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing evidence-based interventions to individuals struggling with substance use and addiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enroll, screen, assess, and reassess individuals for substance use, addiction risk, and addiction treatment needs.
  • Identify and evaluate risk issues, develop appropriate critical need interventions, and transition plans.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide clinical consultation and assist in understanding how substance use and/or addictive behavior can impact recovery.
  • Develop and facilitate clinical and support groups based on the needs and preferences of individuals served.
  • Cultivate mutually respectful partnerships, set appropriate limits, and maintain a helping role with individuals served and family members.
  • Coordinate with Care Coordination Entities and other providers to ensure individuals have access to services that address addiction treatment and related issues.
  • Provide direct interventions and supports to individuals served based on their stage of treatment or stage of change using evidence-based and promising treatment practices.
  • Develop productive affiliations and partnerships with other community-based providers to enhance the agency's service delivery network, ensuring individuals have appropriate access to addiction services as needed.
Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified Substance Use Counselor with a strong background in addiction treatment and a passion for working with individuals struggling with substance use and addiction. The ideal candidate will have:

  • LADC I, LADC II, or CADC certification.
  • Experience working with adults with mental health challenges, emotional disturbance, and co-occurring substance abuse disorders.
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
