Job Title: LPN Gynecology Oncology

We are seeking an experienced LPN to join our Gynecology Oncology team at Compass Oncology. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will work closely with our providers, RNs, Medical Assistants, and schedulers to provide exceptional care to our patients.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will utilize the nursing process to address the acute and chronic needs of patients with a cancer diagnosis. This will involve answering clinical questions, gathering information for our providers, and informing care delivery decisions.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide general nursing care to patients, including screening, administering treatments, and observing patient reactions.
  • Assist with patient preparation and aid physicians during examinations and procedures.
  • Record patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and current medication reconciliation.
  • Perform EKG and oximetry readings as requested by providers.
  • Send referrals, place orders, and request medical records as outlined by providers.
  • Maintain patient files, records, and other information.
  • Initiate IV fluids and IV therapeutic medications in accordance with LPN/LVN state nurse practice act.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
  • At least 3 years' experience as a practical nurse.
  • Phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • Current LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
  • Current American Heart Association accredited BLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
