Job Overview:

PTS Advance is seeking an experienced professional to join the Mont Belvieu Turnaround Group as a Turnaround Specialist. This role is ideal for an individual with strong rotating equipment experience, specifically with turbines and compressors.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning Phase:

  • Conduct thorough walk-downs of the project scope to verify job requirements and gather all necessary information.
  • Validate job plans, including job steps, type, and duration required, and ensure materials, resources, and valve/piping specifications are accurate.
  • Capture and resolve any discrepancies between field conditions and drawing data.
  • Input all relevant job information into the planning tool and support schedulers in job sequencing and logic development.
  • Validate Bill of Materials to ensure they contain all materials required for job execution and collaborate with scheduling, materials management, and document controls teams.

Execution Phase:

  • Manage contractor onboarding and ensure compliance with safety and procedural requirements.
  • Oversee the work of assigned contractors, verifying progress and maintaining safety standards throughout all phases.
  • Coordinate contractor efforts, addressing any obstacles that could impede job advancement and collaborate with schedulers to monitor contractor productivity and job performance.
  • Ensure appropriate contractor headcount is maintained for each work front and work closely with inspection teams to identify any additional or discovery work.
  • Complete and submit AWR or delay forms as required and attend daily meetings to provide status updates on assigned work.

Ongoing Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and continuously assess and suggest improvements to planning practices.
  • Support the Turnaround Team with any additional tasks or duties as assigned and assist with maintenance or capital work projects as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Rotating equipment experience is a must, specifically with turbines and compressors.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with industrial tools and equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, P&IDs, work permits, and technical instruction manuals.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and respond to urgent demands under potentially hazardous conditions.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements:

  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in industrial environments.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and transporting up to 75 lbs. manually.
  • Comfortable working at various heights and in confined spaces.
  • Physically able to climb, bend, stoop, and move from ground level to higher levels.
  • Must be able to wear and operate safety and emergency equipment, including breathing apparatus and protective gear.
  • Available for on-call duties and overtime work as needed.
  • Must live or relocate within 1 hour of Mont Belvieu, TX and be able to travel domestically when required.
