Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Catalyst Physician Group. As a Patient Access Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring seamless communication between patients and our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage online service accounts, including Healow, ZocDoc, patient portal, and webchat, to facilitate efficient patient communication.
  • Schedule appointments, update demographic information, and route messages appropriately to ensure timely and effective communication.
  • Manage email requests from proxy accounts and troubleshoot portal issues to maintain a high level of patient satisfaction.
  • Verify and update patient insurance information to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
  • Empathize with and coach patients in navigating the healthcare system, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Meet performance metrics and service level criteria to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Identify special needs and take proper steps to ensure patient appointments are scheduled appropriately.
  • Work collaboratively with a diverse group of professionals in a team environment to achieve shared goals.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in work processes and/or setting to enhance patient care and satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all HIPAA and privacy rules while discussing sensitive health information with patients or their authorized delegates.
  • Follow all clinical safety protocols and infection control procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-2 years of related experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
  • Athena EMR experience a plus.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in handling confidential and sensitive information, with knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Must live within a 45-minute commute from Plano, Frisco, or McKinney.
