About the RoleThe primary objective of this position is to oversee and facilitate therapeutic recreational group sessions that empower RSC residents with the skills and techniques needed to enhance their physical, cognitive, and social functioning.
Key Responsibilities- Therapeutic Recreational Group Sessions: Provide eight on-site group sessions per week, with up to one hour per session.
- Session Coordination: Conduct sessions on two different days, with four back-to-back sessions per day, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Session Management: Ensure each resident receives credit for participation through sign-in sheets.
- Leadership: Lead sessions with 6 to 12 participants per session.
- Program Development: Design sessions with clearly stated objectives and goals, including activities such as calisthenics, stretching, relaxation techniques, and more.
- Safety and Emergency Response: Address concerns or problems arising during sessions immediately with appropriate personnel.
- Adaptability: Modify group topics or delivery frequency as needed.
- Reporting Requirement: Enter group session progress notes into the Government's case management system within one business day following each session.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of session topics, attendance, and resident participation.
- Communication: Notify appropriate personnel of any safety concerns or emergencies.
- Citizenship: Be a U.S. citizen or lawfully permitted to reside in the U.S. with a valid work permit.
- Background Investigation: Clear the CSOSA background investigation.
- Certifications: Possess relevant certifications as a Certified Recreational Therapist (CTRS) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in specific therapies.
- Team Support: Provide prime and backfill therapists as required.
- Physical Ability: Physically capable of performing job duties.
- Mandatory Testing: Mandatory testing for Tuberculosis, annual immunizations, and CPR certification.
- Compliance: Compliance with drug testing requirements.
