Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently coordinates case times for various surgical procedures utilizing a computerized scheduling system.
- Verifies physician privilege status prior to scheduling and maintains confidentiality of all related information.
- Obtains necessary authorization numbers and ensures all patient records are current for scheduled procedures.
- Types and prints physician orders across multiple departments, ensuring accurate scheduling and maintenance of physician block time.
- Enters and manages patient registration information, diagnostic test results, and patient charges, while preparing statistical reports for management review.
- Acts as a liaison among nursing units, physicians, and patients, facilitating communication and addressing inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
- Conducts audits for charge management and reconciles discrepancies to ensure accurate billing.
- Handles facility work orders and supply requests as needed, ensuring smooth operational flow.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates who have at least two years of experience in a medical clerical role, ideally within a hospital or physician office setting. Familiarity with medical terminology and excellent organizational skills are essential.
Preferred Skills
Additional education or experience in a related field is advantageous.
