Under the guidance of the Field Leader(s), the Solids Control Technician will oversee mechanical processes that enhance drilling operations and facilitate the recycling of drilling fluids through closed-loop and other mud systems. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided on various specialized equipment used by Stage 3. The role involves working 12-hour shifts on a rotational schedule, primarily in drilling rig environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with company standards and policies in equipment and system operations
  • Operate and maintain solids control equipment, including centrifuges, shakers, pumps, and more
  • Conduct all operations safely and efficiently
  • Perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipment as necessary
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions
  • Monitor and control process levels, mud weights, pressures, and flows
  • Accurately collect and document all required data
  • Participate in safety meetings and uphold safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Set up and dismantle equipment at rig site locations
  • Operate heavy machinery such as front loaders and forklifts

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude is essential
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Dependable and accountable work ethic
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Flexibility to travel to remote locations across the United States
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Reliable transportation for commuting to rig sites
  • Physical capability to lift 50-75 pounds and navigate various work environments
  • Adaptability to work in diverse weather conditions

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook is necessary
  • Successful completion of pre-employment assessments, including background checks and drug testing, is required
