Role Summary

We are seeking an engineer proficient in testing components and control systems for Battery Electric Locomotives.

The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of power electronics, including inverters, DC-DC converters, diodes, contactors, capacitors, and motor control systems.

Solid fundamentals in electrical engineering and control systems will enable the engineer to effectively contribute to testing and operational enhancements.

The engineer must be adept at troubleshooting and collaborating with team members to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:


Conduct verification and validation of Battery Electric and OHV inverters, converters, and associated power electronics, ensuring compliance with system specifications.

Develop and execute comprehensive verification and validation plans in Power Electronics Labs, ensuring all components meet rigorous performance standards.

Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals.
Gain a thorough understanding of traction inverters and their interfaces with battery management systems and locomotive controllers to facilitate accurate testing and validation of drive systems.
Familiarity with IGBTs, contactors, capacitors, reactors, and relays is essential, along with experience in EQT and FQT testing methodologies.
Proficiency in C programming and MATLAB modeling for control strategy verification and validation is required.

Basic Qualifications:

Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power Electronics, capacitors, reactors, and relays.
Understanding of C programming and MATLAB models for control systems.


We are looking for individuals with expertise in control system testing, high voltage electrical systems, and electronics, including IGBT technologies, battery systems, and inverter controllers.
