Reporting to the Field Leader(s), the Solids Control Technician plays a crucial role in managing mechanical processes that optimize drilling operations and recycle drilling fluids through advanced mud systems. You will receive comprehensive training on our specialized equipment and work in a dynamic environment, typically on a rotational schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all equipment operates in accordance with company standards and protocols
  • Manage and operate solids control machinery including centrifuges, shakers, and pumps
  • Conduct all operations safely and efficiently
  • Perform routine maintenance on mechanical systems as needed
  • Diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions
  • Monitor and control process levels, mud weights, pressures, and flows
  • Accurately collect and document all necessary data for daily reports
  • Participate in safety meetings and uphold safe work practices
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Set up and dismantle equipment at job sites
  • Operate heavy machinery to manage drilled cuttings

Qualifications:

  • Mechanical aptitude is essential
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Reliability and accountability in all tasks
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Flexibility to travel to various remote locations
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Reliable transportation for commuting to job sites
  • Physical capability to lift 50-75 pounds and navigate various work environments
  • Adaptability to work in diverse weather conditions

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory
  • Basic proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office
  • Successful completion of pre-employment testing, including background and physical fitness assessments
