Position Overview:
Workforce is currently seeking applications for the role of Welder within the Welding and Fabrication department. This position is based in a dynamic environment where precision and skill are paramount.

Compensation:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour

Role Summary:
The Welder will operate under moderate to minimal supervision, depending on their level of expertise. Responsibilities include laying out, fitting, and welding fabricated steel structures and metal components on the production floor utilizing advanced welding equipment. The candidate will measure and mark the locations for metal parts on the assembly table in accordance with engineering blueprints and verify the alignment of components using tools such as a straight edge, combination square, and measuring rule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize torch and plasma cutter, as well as grinder, effectively in both standard and non-standard positions while adhering to engineering specifications.
  • Perform welding tasks in various positions including vertical, flat, horizontal, and overhead.
  • Employ basic hand tools like tape measures and clamps to ensure accurate weld application and quality.
  • Inspect workpieces for defects and confirm compliance with specifications.
  • Complete welding on components that have been previously tack welded by seasoned welders.
  • Prepare and finish metal parts through grinding or sanding techniques.
  • Operate material handling equipment, including overhead cranes and hoists.
  • Manage the movement and proper storage of materials and products.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required, including welding helmets, gloves, and safety glasses.
  • Conduct MIG welding and some TIG welding as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proficient in MIG and TIG welding techniques.
  • Ability to read and comprehend English.
  • Skilled in performing standard measurements and utilizing measuring devices.
  • Capable of interpreting engineering drawings and sketches.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and wearing required PPE.
  • Able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding of voltage and amp settings for various welding requirements.
Working Environment:
