Vocational Nurse

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) at the University of California, San Francisco, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in an ambulatory setting. Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for delivering nursing care to patients, optimizing clinic flow, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to create a patient-centered environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to patients in the ambulatory setting, including assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and evaluating patient outcomes.
- Optimize clinic flow by streamlining processes, improving communication, and ensuring a smooth patient experience.
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to create a patient-centered environment, including collaborating with providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and maintain a high standard of patient care, including staying up-to-date with the latest clinical procedures and best practices.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of new workflows and processes to improve patient care and clinic efficiency.
- Two (2) years of related healthcare experience, including a minimum of two (2) years of recent LVN experience in an ambulatory outpatient clinic setting.
- Strong clinical procedure skills, including IM injections, post-op wound care, and assisting with sterile procedures.
- Experience working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, as well as knowledge of COVID protocols and coordination of care workflows.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to prioritize multiple tasks, provide excellent customer service, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in procedural areas, including urology, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology/head & neck surgery, and audiology.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems and experience working in an academic health system.
