Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and guided by the procedures of Ambulatory Services, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is responsible for providing nursing care to patients in the ambulatory setting. The LVN will play a critical role in the patient experience, including optimizing clinic flow, providing in and outreach to patients, and working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to create a patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients in the ambulatory setting
  • Optimize clinic flow and provide in and outreach to patients
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to create a patient-centered environment
  • Develop and maintain a high standard of patient care for patients of all specialties
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
Requirements
  • Two (2) years of related healthcare experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent LVN experience in ambulatory outpatient clinic setting
  • Working experience with clinical procedures: IM injections, post-op wound care, assisting with sterile procedures
  • Strong clinical procedure skills (i.e. phlebotomy, injections, etc.)
  • Experience working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients
  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
  • Knowledge of COVID protocols and coordination of care workflows
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • The ability to prioritize multiple tasks, while providing the highest quality of customer service
  • Experience developing and implementing new workflows
  • Experience providing staff education
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of staff
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in procedural area
  • Experience in ambulatory
  • Related experience working with urology, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology/head & neck surgery, and/or audiology
  • Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems
  • Experience working in an academic health system
License/Certification
  • Active Licensed Vocational Nurse licensure in the State of California
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
