Patient Services Associate II

The Patient Services Associate II plays a vital role in enhancing the patient experience by processing arrival and departure activities with courtesy and professionalism. This position involves obtaining pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures, verifying insurance, referrals, and patient demographic information. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of the Jefferson Experience by emphasizing prompt and courteous treatment of all patients and visitors, maintaining an efficient flow of patients to examination rooms.
Key Responsibilities
- Process check-in and/or check-out, point-of-service activities, and/or scheduling of patient appointments via EPIC.
- Obtain pre-certifications and/or pre-authorizations for procedures.
- Maintain an efficient flow of practice and escalate patient and/or provider concerns as appropriate.
- Greet and interact with patients/visitors in a professional manner, on phone or in person.
- Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements, ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Experience: Customer service and/or patient-facing healthcare experience preferred.
Conditions of Employment
Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jefferson's clinical entities or at the University. If you are not currently vaccinated, you will be required to receive the vaccination prior to hire date if you are offered employment, unless you request and receive an approved medical or religious exemption from Jefferson.
