The Job: Automation Specialist

Role Description:

The Automation Specialist will work closely with our Engineered-to-Order (ETO) and Modernization teams to deliver tailored software and hardware solutions for our clients.

This role involves commissioning, troubleshooting, software updates, and ensuring equipment meets customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Customize crane controls using existing software modules.
  • Support factory acceptance, commissioning, and lifecycle of material handling equipment.
  • Modify PLC software to meet customer needs.
  • Monitor and develop replacements for obsolete automation equipment.
  • Resolve control/software issues by collaborating with engineers and service technicians.
  • Travel to client sites for troubleshooting as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
  • Previous experience working in the Manufacturing Industry.
  • Previous experience working with Siemens PLC and HMI programming experience.
  • Previous experience as an Automation Specialist.
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives and control systems for material handling devices.
  • Familiarity with NEC electrical code and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
