Job Title: PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Duke Health Integrated Practice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and participating in various technical tasks, tests, and determinations involving the utilization of radioactive materials and measurement instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide exceptional care for patients of all ages during examinations, initiate life support measures as necessary, and perform tasks such as starting IVs and injecting doses for nuclear procedures.
  • Instrument Quality Control: Maintain inventory of supplies, prepare and maintain records, and perform daily ambient exposure surveys. Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials, and review calibration data to detect trends indicating instrument malfunction.
  • Clerical: Maintain reports for regulatory agencies, radiation badges, and procedure manuals. Build patient procedure reports in EPIC and work with the health physicist to renew the Radiation License with the state of North Carolina.
  • Safety/Education: Maintain continuing education hours for certification, adhere to radiation safety guidelines, and train PRN Nuclear Technologists to cover the department.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine Technology training program.
  • ARRT (N) certification and/or NMTCB certification within 12 months of employment.
  • BLS certification.
