Duke Health is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our imaging department, you will be responsible for coordinating and participating in various technical tasks, tests, and determinations involving the utilization of radioactive materials and measurement instrumentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and participate in in vivo and in vitro studies
- Operate radiation detection and measurement instrumentation, including stationary imaging devices and scintillation gamma apparatus
- Calibrate and draw up radiopharmaceutical materials for administration to patients
- Evaluate recorded images for technical quality
- Process computerized image data, including function curves and reconstructed SPECT images
- Assume care for physical and psychological needs of patients of all ages during an examination
- Maintain inventory of supplies in assigned area and prepare and maintain records concerning radiopharmaceutical receiving, dispensing, and disposal activities
- Provide instruction and technical guidance to radiologic technology students or other advanced imaging techs
- Monitor Nuclear Medicine Department with portable survey meter for possible contamination
Requirements
- Graduate or completion of program that meets eligibility requirements for registry/certification or currently holds required registry or certification
- ARRT (N) certification and/or NMTCB certification within 18 months of employment
- BLS certification
