Job Summary

Vaco is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Clerk to join our team. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting tasks, including preparing bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements. You will also be responsible for reconciling accounts, entering financial transactions into a database, and providing assistance and support to company personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Transactions: Prepare bank deposits, general ledger postings, and statements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Financial Data Entry: Enter financial transactions into a database in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support to Company Personnel: Provide assistance and support to company personnel as needed.
  • Research and Problem-Solving: Research, track, and resolve accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Compile reports and summaries on financial activity and provide analysis and recommendations to management.
  • Compliance: Function in accordance with established standards, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Tax Compliance: File Sales & Use Tax of different states (Monthly, quarterly, Semi-Annually, Annually) and send Tax Certificates as requested by Vendors.
  • Accounting Periods: Open accounting periods and check weekly invoices to vendors for payments from customers.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate Accounting Reports as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree, Associates Degree, or Equivalent Experience.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Knowledge of accounting programs (Quickbooks) and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel) or related software.
