Job Summary

The Sanitation Associate is a vital member of our production team at Soli Organic, Inc. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and adhering to strict food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitizing: Clean and sanitize all production equipment, floors, and surfaces to prevent contamination and maintain a clean working environment.
  • Checklists and Procedures: Complete checklists associated with sanitation procedures and ensure that all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Dust and clean overhead racking and equipment, and ensure that all machinery is in good working condition.
  • Food Safety: Ensure that all food contact surfaces are sanitary and free from contamination.
  • Team Support: Aid the production team by packing herbs when necessary and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Reporting and Communication: Report any observed safety hazards or food safety concerns to the immediate supervisor and maintain open communication with the team.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English and/or Spanish, good attendance, and work authorization in the U.S.
  • Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, 1 year of sanitation experience in food manufacturing, mechanical aptitude, knowledge of GMPs, and bilingual English-Spanish.
  • Additional Eligibility Qualifications: Promoting and maintaining a safe environment through teamwork and proper food sanitation training, ability to communicate, read, and have good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to understand and follow instructions as given.
Work Environment
  • Physical Demands: Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 10lbs with occasional lift up to 25lbs, regular standing and walking, and occasional climbing or balancing.
  • Cognitive/Sensory Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without help, stand for 8-10 hours per day, and lift, carry, bend, push, and twist frequently as needed.
