Spiritual Life & Recreation Coordinator
Your Impact
As the Spiritual Life & Recreation Coordinator, you will be instrumental in enhancing the spiritual health of the children under our care through innovative and inclusive recreational initiatives. Your role will be to cultivate mindfulness, connection, joy, and personal development within a secure and nurturing atmosphere. This position may involve interactions with clients and/or family members who may exhibit hostility, resistance, or aggression.
Schedule: This is an on-campus role requiring flexibility to meet the needs of the position, including participation in events, field trips, and on-campus support. You must be available to provide programming when residents are present, which may include after school, during summer, evenings, and weekends. During the academic year, at least one day a week will require hours from 12 PM to 8 PM. The position will also necessitate some overnight travel for up to one week at a time, as well as travel throughout Western NC to support teams on and off campuses, and to attend stakeholder meetings locally and regionally.

Job Information
Education/Experience
Education/Experience
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required. Candidates with backgrounds in recreation, recreational therapy, religious studies, or Christian practice are preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and families is required.
- Experience in leading outdoor programs and recreational activities is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development: Design and implement a variety of recreational and spiritual programs for children of all ages, ensuring inclusivity and alignment with Crossnore's mission.
- Faith-Based Activities: Organize and supervise faith-oriented outings, devotionals, Bible studies, and fellowship services, embracing the diversity of Christian faith while respecting all religious backgrounds.
- Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with local congregations, faith partners, and community members to enhance spiritual and recreational opportunities for children.
- Event Coordination: Collaborate with residential teams to organize holiday and summer activities, special events, and maintain a vibrant community garden.
- Pastoral Care: Provide guidance and support to children and staff, offering pastoral care during times of need.
- Travel: Travel between Crossnore sites as necessary to support programs and events.
