Job Summary

Cognizant is seeking a highly skilled Software Asset Management (SAM) professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT asset management, with a mix of technical and management experience.

The successful candidate will have 8-15 years of experience in IT asset management, with a focus on software asset management. ITIL V4 foundation certification is preferred, as is SAM certification (ServiceNow SAMPro). Licensing certification for top priority publishers such as Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Adobe, VMware, HP, and Symantec is also preferred.

Responsibilities

The Software Asset Management Specialist will be responsible for working experience in software asset management and understanding of different contracts and license models. They will also have a solid experience background on ServiceNow SAMPro module and end-to-end governance starting from procurement to disposal.

The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of process flow analysis and process redesign, as well as the ability to share standard methodologies and act as a consultative throughout the technical design of the project.

They will produce a detailed functional design document to match customer requirements and produce a technical specification for custom development and systems integration requirements.

The Software Asset Management Specialist will also participate in setting up new processes from end to end based on understanding of the client environment.

Establishing and maintaining software license compliance and licensing life-cycle management for all software from purchase receipt installation upgrade removal reallocation and retirement is also a key responsibility.

The candidate will craft and analyze software installation and license inventory reporting, complete software compliance assessments (internal audits), and provide support with vendor license audits.

They will also have the ability to research software products, resolve product-licensing implications and vulnerabilities, interpret and process vendor software license agreements.

Experience in creating reports for entitlement baselining software publisher ELP (Effective license positioning) in Flexera Asset Manager or in any SAM Tool is also required.

The Software Asset Management Specialist will suggest and implement technical measures to save on license cost based on usage. Experience in leading and analyzing new project requirements is also a must.

Assisting clients for financial predictability on software procurement and providing data lead assistance to reduce license software and support costs by negotiating contracts with the vendor is also a key responsibility.

Expertise in usage of Software Asset Management & Inventory Collection Tools like Flexera Asset manager & SCC is also required.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $79,240– $133,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
