We are in search of a Senior Vice President for our Excess Liability Underwriting division. This role is pivotal within our organization, focusing on the management and growth of our Excess and Surplus (E&S) Casualty portfolio. At Sompo International, our U.S. Excess Casualty team is recognized for its extensive expertise and robust relationships with select appointed wholesale brokers. We pride ourselves on providing substantial in-house capacity, a consistent underwriting methodology, prompt and efficient service, and a highly experienced claims team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwriting lead and excess liability accounts.
- Assessing individual risk characteristics to accurately determine capacity, attachment points, terms, and pricing.
- Fostering and enhancing existing broker relationships while identifying and cultivating new partnerships both regionally and beyond.
- Adapting underwriting strategies to align with guidelines and rating plans to accommodate a diverse range of account sizes and operations.
- Formulating and executing a marketing strategy aimed at retaining current business and generating new opportunities.
- Leading a collaborative team environment that includes claims, legal, and actuarial professionals.
Qualifications:
- Established relationships with regional wholesale brokers, with a proven ability to drive business.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in casualty underwriting.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational capabilities.
- CPCU designation and/or Surplus Lines license is preferred.
